Once your child knows the bedtime routine, they want to follow it exactly. Sorry, you can’t skip that book.

Routines help your child feel more secure in knowing what to expect. They can become more independent as they follow these familiar activities.

Today’s activity: Establish a bedtime routine that you will be able to follow consistently. Consider using routines for other daily activities, as well. Model the expected actions. Pause before each step to allow your child time to initiate the action.
