The Way-Back Music Machine hits the road for the 63rd time. And this trip is as fun and exciting as the previous 62!

This week we start with the live debut of a super group in New York City at the Filmore East, in 1969. It is interesting how they came together and how they fell apart. But that didn't happen for a number of years.

Then a rockabilly cat, who is a major influence on The Beatles, has a hit in the United Kingdom with a song that was suggested by Johnny Cash. It sounds confusing but it isn't. And maybe Elvis does a better version of it?

Finally we look back at a famous comment that caused quite a stir in South America and the southern United States. Proof that The Beatles did not always win over fans.

All that, plus our From Memphis to Merseyside segment, charts, great stories and two friends chatting about rock and roll.

That is this week's episode of The Way-Back Music Machine.
