The third epistle of John is a letter in the New Testament of the Bible, written by John the Apostle, and addressed to Gaius, a leader in one of the early Christian communities. The letter commends Gaius for his hospitality and support of traveling Christian missionaries and also addresses a situation where another leader, Diotrephes, has been refusing to show hospitality to the missionaries and spreading false teachings.
