The level of comfort we feel in the relationship context is completely based on our past experiences, coping mechanisms, and strategies. As we became emotionally and sexually active, we learned what to do and how to do it in order to feel safe and secure.
But what happens when those learned behaviors are holding us back from living life to the fullest and having all the experiences we want to have? We can't keep the same level of comfort as we start knocking down the walls in order to make a change. We need to go back to being blushing teens, fumbling around in the dark trying to figure everything out. And it's going to be awkward.
