Today's special guest is Scott Wiseman, Senior Vice President & General Manager at Apple Leisure Group. He is a dear friend from our Penn State days together and we have remained connected.
He has had massive career acceleration by accepting every "double dog dare" challenge and achieving the impossible. An incredible strategic business leader that has already accomplished so much!
We discuss:
-Having a passion for work
-Listening more than talking
-Not needing to treat everyone the same to be fair
-Working hard to find the balance
More about Scott:
He is a lifelong hospitality executive whose career has spanned both hotel and travel sectors of the industry. He is fortunate to leverage a uniquely balanced background in sales, marketing, finance, analytics and operations for his current responsibilities as Senior Vice President & General Manager of Apple Leisure Group Vacations where he is responsible for oversight of six of Apple Leisure Group's brands.
He believes in these principles: active listening, being accessible, proving why it will work vs why it won't, transparent communication and understanding that he doesn't have to be the smartest person in the room.
Finally, he is serving as a valuable executive committee board member (Chairman) for the United States Tour Operator Association (USTOA).
