67. Stars (82 Days of Poetry #4)
My mother, Leslye Layne Russell, was a poet and true creative spirit. She passed away before she published her poetry, and in the months prior to her death, I promised to publish and share her work. Here it is!!!
A book and other trinkets of delight are coming soon!
82 Days of Poetry has been created with honor and deep respect for my mom, and all these poems were written and compiled prior to her passing in 2018. I am simply reading her poetic lines! We, as a family, own and reserve the rights to her amazing work.
"Stars" was written for my mother's father! Grandpa Bob was (and still is) so very special to me. I spent countless summer nights with him, my grandma, and sister, laying beneath the shining stars naming constellations and making wishes. It is so nice to know, so many years before, my grandpa connected with my mom through the stars. Even now, I feel the timeless quality of their bright light.
