Meet Retired Major General Joe Caravalho, Jr., M.D.:

Retired Major General Joe Caravalho, Jr., M.D., is the CEO of the Henry M. Jackson Foundation (HJF) for the Advancement of Military Medicine. Prior to joining HJF, Dr. Caravalho served in the U.S. Army in various position for over 30 years, including Joint Staff Surgeon and Chief Medical Adviser to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Dr. Caravalho received a Bachelor’s in Math from Gonzaga University, a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies from the Army War College, and an M.D. from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences School of Medicine.
