Hymn Talk Twin Talk

68. At the Cross (Alas And Did My Savior Bleed)

Listen Later

This is a beautiful, powerful hymn that we are so excited to be diving into. We sang this as kids in our church and we can remember having so much fun with it. The tune is bouncy and peppy and just FUN to sing. Examining the hymn all these years later, so much of the meaning was lost on us as kids. This hymn is just FULL of Scripture and theology and Christian doctrine.

Here are some things that we talk about in the episode:

At the Cross with Tune by Hudson sheet music

Alas and Did My Savior Bleed by Wilson sheet music

Valley Forge Christian College

Raluca Bojor

Raiders of the Lost Ark Face Melt Movie Clip

'Twas Rum by Hudson sheet music

Prohibition in the United States

The Salvation Army

O Save Me at the Cross by Fanny Crosby sheet music

Thank you for listening! Thank you for supporting Hymn Talk Twin Talk. We really hope you enjoy our light-hearted look at the hymns while still sharing the truth of who Jesus is and all that He's done for us.
