Once again we find ourselves existing in the pandemic. This week's featured album is Tom McRae's self-titled debut, which after 20 years is about to get an anniversary reissue next month. This record remains a slice of masterful songwriting with a great ear for creating a vacuum and filling it with searing atmosphere in instrumentation, along with consistenty spine-tingling cello arrangements from Olly Kraus — their live performances together were always something special, as the cello played through a bank of guitar pedals produced tremendous sound.
