Learning to recognize the Voice of the Lord can be a lifelong refinement. This is the more sure Word of prophecy. When we are confirmed members of the church, we are told to “receive the Holy Ghost.” Joseph Smith wrote, “No man can receive the Holy Ghost without receiving revelation. The Holy Ghost is a revelator.” DHC 6:58. The Voice of the Lord is unto all… “both old and young, bond and free, male and female.” We must come to know the voice of the Lord as we negotiate our way through our time. Especially in today’s world, President Russell M. Nelson has said: It will not be possible to survive spiritually without the guiding influence of the Lord.
