Welcome, to the DO BIG THINGS podcast episode #69! I’m guessing there is a joke there somewhere but I digress. It is March 23 and I am coming to you from Boulder, Colorado. I’ve got a fantastic guest for you guys this week, Mr. Paul Devaney is a big mountain climber. By big mountain, I mean he is a 7 summit hopeful. He’s done 6 of the 7, leaving the best for last. Mount Everest. He’s had some attempts out there and on paper, he should have been able to complete it by now. He’s got the knowledge, he’s got the proper training, he’s put the time and dedication into it. However, his latest Everest attempt was in 2015 when there was a catastrophic avalanche up there that claimed the lives of 19 people. He was a part of the disaster as well as everything that goes along with the aftermath of something like that. His story is incredible. He’s done lots of other podcasts and Ted Talks on the subject and if you look at his website, Irishsevensummits.com, you can find all kinds of links about it and video that was actually taken during the disaster. I highly recommend you checking it out and listening to this man’s story. It was an honor to have him on the show and it was an honor to have my man Mr. John Danese as a co-host for this one. You can hear my conversations with John on episodes 20 and 34. I’m excited for this conversation because it’s real and intense. And I love real and intense.
