I was talking to other influencers, bloggers & friends within the influencer space. We were discussing how much time, energy & effort it takes to be an influencer, blogger or content creator. We all know that it takes so much time to create content yet we have to prioritize our content & creative process to truly remain on task & continue increase our own individual value as creators.
Most people pick up their phones & start scrolling through Instagram or social media consuming content before we begin creating or focusing on our own content. You want to think about how you are consuming content on social media. We spend so much time focusing on other people's content before dedicating time to our own content. I know for me personally, I have been having a busy end of the school year & therefore I have been scrolling though social media without being intentional because I just want to escape my own creative responsibilities.
I realized when I begin my day with Intention as to what I need to get done by 7 am, it prepares me for the content I have to create. I began realizing when I am exhausted I rather spend time scrolling on social media to avoid getting my own personal tasks started instead of focusing on the tasks I need to accomplish. I then had to reinforce my routine with Creating Content.
Here are the following tasks I decided to focus on when Creating Content.
Focus on your content & your creative talents in your business & personal brand. It takes so much time to successfully build a brand or business on Social Media, especially when you want to have social proof. The more time that you spend time on other people's content or social media platforms the less time you are putting in for your content. In doing so, you are giving yourself less value than you deserve.
I'm not saying that you should not consume or engage with content on Social Media but you should be mindful of the time you spend on it, especially as a creative. Whenever you finish creating your content for the day, then you can focus on consuming others content, support your tribe & be intentional with your time in terms of engagement & connecting with others who inspire, motivate & empower you. I want you to be intentional.
I want you focus on your content, craft & magic. You got this girl. You can do this. If you need more confidence tips, read my latest blog post Stop Limiting Yourself: Own You're Magic.
