There’s a huge misconception regarding healthy meals––that is, cheap healthy meals. Meal planning is usually laid out in a diagram telling us “cheap, healthy, tasty” doesn’t exist. In fact, we’ve just got to submit to choosing two.
However, this just isn’t true, and we at Fit for the Task would like to think we have a bit of authority on the matter.
For example, these are meals we have eaten as broke college students, struggling adults, and otherwise just frugal fitness fanatics (say that five times fast). We’re speaking as a couple who frequently has contests for who can spend the least at the grocery store.
These are our real go-to meals that work for us. They’re not all we eat all the time, but they’re a very good starting point for anyone trying to make healthy eating a habit.
