“…recovery is not a one and done thing, it’s a process. I learned that I had to be ok with everything…is it completely out of my control and there was nothing I could do to prevent it [from happening]”
This quote is one of many in this episode that depicts our guest, Matt's harsh reality of growing up with not one, but two brothers addicted to crack. In part one of this two part series, he holds nothing back and aims to help anyone going through a similar situation. Growing up, Matt idolized his big brothers and was devastated to find out about both of their addictions. We go into depth on what impact it has had on his family, his relationship with both his brothers while they were in an out of treatment, his initial view on addiction versus his outlook now and the powerful feeling of resentment. This has been such a learning experience for us and are so grateful Matt chose our podcast to tell his story.
