In this episode I discuss how the Sublime experience, described by Edmund Burke, can influence our ethics. The sublime experience pushes us towards ethical skepticism and moral pluralism by confronting us with our own limitations. We are small ape-like creatures with a meager intelligence and we should never be so confident about our own ideas that we should impose them on others. From the Sublime experience comes a sense of humility and non-seriousness.If you have any comments, questions or ideas, please email me at
