Every ten minutes, a woman in the world is intentionally killed. Of these nearly 60 % were murdered by a partner or family member. Femicide – the killing of a woman or girl because she is a woman – is a global crisis that we don’t talk about. But most femicides are preventable, because they have similar patterns.
