7. gaining confidence & being open on social media
How in the world did I become so confident and open on social media?! It has been such a journey to find my voice and express myself authentically in a way that feels comfortable, that feels like I’m taking risks. That feels like I'm no longer playing it safe. Like I'm no longer choosing to be vanilla, and it's a daily work in progress for me to embody my fullest self.
If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’ve taken multiple hiatuses off of social media. I still have so many moments where self-doubt paralyzes me. My relationship with posting definitely flows in cycles, so I wanted to share my journey and how I’ve gained the confidence to start speaking my voice because I know a lot of you feel a similar calling of, “I have a story to share, I want to start being open and authentic, I want to stop pretending on social media, but I don’t know where to start".
Through me sharing my story, hopefully you will get some clarity on where you’re at with your relationship to social media and how to start being more open and authentic (if that’s what you desire). Not every single person has to be open on social media - there’s a purpose for all of us on these apps whether we’re creators, consumers, or a little bit of both.
