7 Jun 2026: Humility (Going Public)

Listen Later

Humility is not weakness—it is seeing ourselves rightly before God and others.

As the gospel spread beyond Jerusalem, the early church faced challenges that tested pride, prejudice, and faith. In Acts 11–12, we encounter Barnabas, a man described as “good, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith,” whose character helped strengthen a growing church. We also see unlikely people serving one another, believers learning to trust God through difficult circumstances, and a powerful contrast between humble dependence on God and the destructive consequences of pride.

In this message, Pastor Mark explores how the gospel creates a level playing field, calls believers to serve and be served with humility, and reminds us that God’s purposes often unfold in ways we do not fully understand. Ultimately, we are pointed to Jesus Christ—the perfect example of humility—who gave Himself for us so that we might have life.
