Episode 7: Knowing God
What does it mean to know God? How do we know God? How do we know that we are knowing Him? Many today know about God but they do not know God in a personal way. God has opened the door that all may know Him. My prayer today is that all of us may enter more deeply into this personal relationship with God.
From the tract on the web site entitled “Knowing God”
“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” (John 17:3
• Knowing someone (including God) means experiencing God
• Salvation is not experienced separate from knowing God
• The New Covenant opened the door for “all to know Him” (Heb. 8:11)
• The Old Covenant was based on what man could do, the New on what God can do
• The basis of the New Covenant is the Cross of Jesus Christ
• Jesus died so that we could enter into union with God by the Spirit
• The Christian life is living His life by faith, not our life
• Being born again brings us into a relationship, not just an experience
• That which is born of God overcomes all things
• Knowing God is a love relationship that bears fruit (an expression of God)
• Love is expressed in relationship, communion, union, and oneness
