This is the first time a vaccine has been developed and gained regulatory approval in such a short frame of time. With it comes the consequences of tackling vaccine hesitancy, delivery, protecting health workers, and developing a robust health workforce and health sector. COVID also makes a clear case for investment in the health workforce to transition to a proactive approach with emphasis on prevention rather than just treatment.
