How much energy do you spend worrying about when or where to show which emotions?
There is so much more to be said on this topic, but here I share a few thoughts on us being emotional. It really should be the most normal thing in the world to have our emotions be part of what we do throughout the day. There is this idea that when we are in an emotional state we can't think clearly, but I would argue that in society we have taken it to the other extreme where we try to keep our emotions, especially the ones seen as soft, out of many of our daily interactions. So we sit there trying to do what we are doing while also trying to police our emotions according to what is acceptable in the social setting. What if allowing more emotion to flow through us more freely actually allowed us to make better decisions?
