7. October New & Full Moon Astrology Forecast - Once in a Blue Moon

The constant themes we’ve been dealing with throughout 2020, and what I think are really being highlighted here with these three lunations this month, is this concept of structure, order, governance, and authority, with the Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto business happening in Capricorn all month, and the contrast of asserting ourselves against this authority, breaking down the structures and rebuilding the foundations in a way that works for us. Taking back our power against these forces that we feel have been working against us or challenging us all year. Taking back our power from the situations where we’ve given our power away.

October is said to be the most action-packed months out of all of 2020. The Sun enters Scorpio on the 22nd, Mercury sits in Scorpio for the majority of the month, while also going retrograde from the 14th until Nov. 1st. Scorpio is a sign of intensity and extremes, dealing with anything underworldly and completely uninterested in anything but the cold, hard truth. With both the Sun and Mercury in this untamed and sometimes frightening sign, we also have Mars, one of the rulers of Scorpio, sitting retrograde in his other home sign of Aries. And Pluto, the other ruler of Scorpio, recently stationing and returning to a direct motion after being retrograde since the spring. This is putting a huge emphasis on Scorpio energy this month, making it an extremely fitting month for Halloween and all things… surprising and spooky.
