Acts 1–8 shows how the Holy Spirit empowers the birth and growth of the church. After Jesus’ resurrection and ascension, the Spirit comes at Pentecost, transforming the disciples into bold witnesses and forming a Spirit-filled community marked by unity, generosity, and power. Through the Spirit, the church proclaims Jesus, performs signs and wonders, endures persecution, and continues to grow. Even suffering and scattering become Spirit-led means by which the gospel spreads beyond Jerusalem, advancing God’s purpose. That same Holy Spirit is still alive and actively leading, empowering, and growing the church today.
