7 | Sexual Healing With Presence And Pleasure | Devi Ward Erickson and Nunaisi Ma
The natural state of humanity is joyful, balanced, and healthy. Anything other than that is seen as diseased, as unwellness, especially in the Western culture. So, our natural, untraumatized expression as human beings is love and connection, the desire to live in harmony with each other. We've been here for hundreds of thousands of years, we've had to live in harmony and balance together, and when we don't, we destroy ourselves, as we can see from what's happening on the planet today, especially in terms of our sexual healing.
The purpose of human sexuality is transcendence, and it's a pathway to our ultimate realization, and that is its true purpose. So, to oppress it, to make us ignorant of that potential and to shame us into that, that's the same it's the equivalent to me of shaming our natural desire to eat food.
So, when we can explore our sexuality in a way that feels good to us as individuals and feeling free of shame and free of guilt; or at least when that shame and guilt arises, we're able to observe, acknowledge and address it, then that is a healthy sexual relationship. If not, then you may need to address your sexual healing.
