#7: Uncovering the Unexpected: What Really Goes into Nursing?
In this episode of the podcast, we had the pleasure of speaking with Tosha Lev, a rising star on TikTok who is quickly becoming one of the top influencers on the platform. Tosha is a male nurse working in labor and delivery, and with close to 100,000 followers on TikTok, he is a powerful voice for women's health.
But Tosha's journey to success has been anything but easy. Born with type 1 diabetes, Tosha faced numerous challenges early on in life. Nevertheless, he persevered and went on to become an advocate for women's health, working in a field that is dominated by women.
During the podcast, Tosha shares his struggles and the cards that were stacked against him. He opens up about the difficulties of being born with a chronic condition, growing up as an adopted child, and working in a field that is not typically associated with men. Despite all of these obstacles, Tosha has never lost sight of his goals and continues to work towards his dream of becoming a nurse practitioner.
Currently, Tosha is enrolled in a doctoral program for nurse practitioners at Baylor University, and we had the opportunity to hear about his experiences there and what he hopes to accomplish in the future.
