Sammie is a middle-schooler who for over three years has been helping add Buddy Benches to her community. Buddy Benches are benches specifically made to encourage the creation of new friendships. If someone feels lonely, they sit on the Buddy Bench, which signifies to others that they are open to sparking up a conversation. Sammie has taken her community activism one step further and worked towards creating these benches out of recyclable material.
