"I’m very sorry to inform you of this ma’am but tonight your daughter and her husband were killed in a traffic accident, it appears their truck met head-on with another semi headed in the opposite direction."

He paused, allowing the woman on the other end of the phone to process the news and soon she began sobbing and weeping. After a few moments, she calmed her panicked voice and asked the officer one simple question that caused his heart to stop and stayed his breath within his chest.

Her voice cracked as she began to speak, she cleared her throat and started again “What about the boy? Please tell me he is alright.”

To say his heart sank, was an understatement. “Boy? What Boy?”
