I can’t control what happens to me, but with God’s help, I can choose my response. There are stages, sort of, that we can be intentional about going through when we’re hit with bad news. Initially there’s the shock of it all, then sorrow over it, and also a struggle to accept what happened. At some point, we must choose to surrender it all to God, to see how God is growing us through it and then how to serve at a higher level after it.
