In his parable of the weeds among the wheat, Jesus shows that he will continue to bless the proclamation of the gospel by raising people to faith and growing them in their salvation. The devil and mankind’s sinful nature, however, are also at work in this world so within visible Christian churches there are also hypocrites, or false believers. This is a sad and troubling fact. God will deal with them in the future. But God keeps his true sons and daughters in his care and will bring them safely home to glory.
