Even at the young age of 12, Kaitlyn Pierce was way ahead of her time in the area of online marketing. As a superfan of the Backstreet Boys, she received permission from AOL back in the day to increase the size of her subscriber list, disseminating the latest info on the boy band. She's come a long way from those days when she was known as the Backstreet Boys Girl. And yet, she continues to be well ahead of the curve as a small business owner and as a mother. Starting her own business, Pierce Social, was the outgrowth of her years of experience as a social media manager and a necessity to have more flexibility in her schedule to be the mother she wants to be. In addition, Kaitlyn homeschools her children, which we explore in-depth in this episode. We also cover the powerful decision she made in her teenage years after an incredibly difficult experience of her own in the public schools marked by chronic health issues, anxiety and depression. Kaitlyn is an inspiration and shining light in our community. Also in this episode, we cover: productivity of working from home verses at the office, taking the leap to go into business for yourself, content creation and social media strategy, the storytime concept, the value of doing makeup while telling a story on social media, social media as a PR strategy, sharing your expertise, the mindset shift for successful homeschooling, taking the time to allow your children to explore (go down the rabbit hole) in homeschool lessons, and much more.
I hope you enjoy my conversation with Kaitlyn Pierce.
