Today on the Text-Driven Women Podcast, we're continuing our study on Titus 2. In this episode, we're walking through what it means to be a "slanderer" and also seven practical ways to root out slander.
DIGGING DEEPER GUIDE:
Read James 3:1-18. List all the ways the tongue is described.
Jesus included the sin of slander in the same list as murder, adultery, and sexual immorality (Matt. 15:19). Do you tend to be as concerned about the sin you commit with your tongue as you are about these other sins?
Much of what eventually becomes slander is “born and nourished” when our thoughts are unbridled, unrestrained, not under the control of Christ. How can Psalm 19:14 help you train your heart and mind against gossip and slander?
According to the lesson, what types of things are included in slander?
According to the lesson, what are some ways to root out slander in your own life or those you come in contact with?
What was one primary takeaway or lesson for you from this lesson?
How might our words and actions be different if our underlying desire was to fix our eyes on Jesus and be a woman under control?
Scripture mentioned in this lesson: Titus 2:3; Revelation 2:10; 1 Timothy 3:11; Ephesians 4:29, 4:31; Jeremiah 17:10; Proverbs 11:13, 16:28, 17:9, 18:8, 21:2, 25:18; James 4:11; 2 Corinthians 10:5; Romans 12:2; Philippians 4:8
