Lewis Maleh talks with Professor Adrian Martineau, Clinical Professor of Respiratory Infection and Immunity, Queen Mary University of London. In this episode they talk about how vitamin D plays a role in reducing the risk of COVID-19 infection, and who are at higher risks of deficiencies.
In the past decade, studies have found that taking vitamin D can lower the chances of developing respiratory infections like the cold and flu, especially among people who have documented deficiencies. Now scientists are trying to find out whether vitamin D might also help protect against Covid-19.
