It's not the divorce that causes children pain, it's how the parents handle their own pain. Riya's parents divorced when she was young and she didn't realize for a long time that the pain and anxiety she was carrying was not from their divorce, but from her parents hating each other. It was their hate that made her feel boken and she vowed to never get a divorce and hurt her children. Then she found herself on the brink of divorce with two daughters to consider and her new vow became healing her pain, becoming friends with her ex, his new wife, and their twin daughters. She would not "break" her family, she would "extend" it.Listen as Riya describes the journey, which hasn't been easy, but worth it.
