77 - Dey Rose / FACING CHALLENGES TO FIND AND FIT INTO A NEW MUSIC COMMUNITY IN AUSTRIA, STUDYING TO BE A SOUND TECH / Música&Mezcal
Dey Rose is a singer-songwriter and guitar player from the Philippines currently based in Austria. She talks to us about wanting to study music and then how she got into the sound tech world. She shared with us how she got into a music contest in Vancouver in 2018 and was flown to Los Angeles and later to Manila in The Philippines to perform in the biggest stadium. She also talked to us about the challenges of looking and finding a music community in a country where you’re just getting to know the culture, learning the language, and having a big punk-rock, metal music scene. Dey has just released an album named Evelyn (named after her mother), and you can listen to it on all music platforms.
Dey Rose es una cantautora y guitarrista de las Filipinas que actualmente vive en Austria. Nos platica sobre estudiar música y cómo se metió en el mundo de la ingeniería de sonido. Compartió con nosotros cómo participó en un concurso de música en Vancouver en 2018 y voló a Los Ángeles y luego a Manila para presentarse en el estadio más grande de las Filipinas. También nos habló sobre los desafíos de buscar y encontrar una comunidad de música en un país donde apenas está conociendo la cultura, aprendiendo el idioma y tiene una gran escena musical de punk-rock y metal.
