78. Bill Protzmann: Music Literally Saved My Life

Listen Later

Bill Protzmann (PRAHTS’-man) is a man on a mission: to raise awareness of the power of music as self-care.

He is a successful IT entrepreneur who holds magna cum laude degrees in piano performance and creative writing and brings music to audiences in non-traditional ways. He is the author of More Than Human – The Value of Cultivating the Human Spirit in Your Organization" found on Amazon.

In 2011, he launched Music Care Inc, a for-purpose corporation that teaches practical ways music can be used for self-care. His work was recognized by the National Council for Behavioral Health with an Award of Excellence in 2014 – the behavioral health equivalent of winning an Oscar.

Bill also does volunteer work that includes Board positions with Guitars for Vets and the San Diego Veterans Coalition. He has been instrumental in connecting thousands of military service members and Veterans with honor tickets to the largest healing music organization in his town: the San Diego Symphony.

Organizations like Consumer Action, The Society for Financial Education and Professional Development, 2-1-1 San Diego, and The American Music Therapy Association have all been delighted with his keynote presentations.

Go online, and you can read his articles at Fox News, Your Tango, The Good Men Project, Psychology Today, and PracticalHeartSkills.com.
