The Battle of Jutland, which took place in 1916, was the largest naval battle of World War I and a defining moment in British naval history. It was fought between the British Grand Fleet and the German High Seas Fleet and was fought off the coast of Denmark in the North Sea. The battle lasted for two days and resulted in the loss of over 8,500 lives, making it one of the deadliest naval battles in history.
