Confucius lived over 2,000 years ago and had ideas on human conduct and politics that are still ahead of their time. He believed that though development of personal skills like learning, reflection, and partaking in social rites we could unify humanity and use morality and ethics as a way of governing as supposed to law and punishment. What a world it would be if punishment was no longer a means to control the choices of people.
