He has directed some of the UK's most successful and biggest dramas such as Broadchurch, Doctor Who, His Dark Materials, Happy Valley, Black Mirror & Sherlock.
He's won BAFTA Cymru Best Director several times and and also the Bafta Cymru's Sian Phillips award. He has also directed movies, including most recently Dream Horse staring Tonni Collette & Damian Lewis.
We talk about the many aspects of directing, how he got started, some of his favourite projects and of course he gives great advice for those who are looking to get into directing.
