What would it look like if you were a woman and wanted to be an industry where not only was there not gender equality but there was hardly a female presence?
Jill Meyers is a living example of what it's like to be a woman pilot surrounded by almost exclusively male colleagues. She shares her story that was instrumental in ushering in change in her industry.
Most dear to her heart; however, is her passion to help young women realize anything is possible and how you can change the belief systems to break the barriers to be all you desire. In this episode, you'll hear her talk about an important program she has been deeply involved with to do just that.
Jill Meyers has more than 30 years of experience in the fields of aviation and aerospace. Her passion for aviation started as a teenager when she obtained her Private Pilot License at age 17. Her professional career started in the United States Air Force, where she operated and maintained communications systems worldwide for eight years. Jill supported Strategic Air Command, U.S. Space Command, and the United States Air Forces in Europe during her military career.
In 2018, Jill started a business to provide consulting services to aviation organizations around the globe, and to offer her expertise and inspiration through public speaking. She is an ambassador for The Red Door Films "FlyGirls" project, a dramatic miniseries in development to tell the untold story of the WWII Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP).
Jill was also a consultant to Indie Atlantic Films for production of their award-winning 2019 documentary film about women in aviation called "Fly Like A Girl".
