This podcast is all about innovation and this week they discuss bright ideas in the FASHION industry. Each year, 92million tonnes of clothing go into landfill and 20% of this has never been worn. The ideas featured in this episode are doing things a little differently… and focussing on the well-being of people and the world. 

What is in store:

  • Meeting Famous Podcasters: Last weekend Rhiannon (sort of) met a famous podcaster and a few years ago Ellie met Elis James, who hosts one of their favourite podcasts with co-host John Robins.
  • Algae Update: Algalife is a start-up that aims to develop algae-based materials for fashion and textiles.
  • Save your Wardrobe: How often do you forget what is in your wardrobe? We only wear a TINY fraction of what we have and this generates a huge amount of waste. We are entering a new era of digitalising the fashion industry, this is a new untapped space and SYW is at the forefront of it, with the welfare of the planet and people at the heart of what they do.
  • Special Guest: Ellie chats with, friend and Bert&B Founder, Alicia Newman about her sustainable jewellery business.
  • Note to Self: This week's NTS is Staiy, a progressive marketplace is essentially a one-stop-shop for brands & people on the same mission to accelerate the transition towards sustainable fashion.
