Lee Boot (00:00): In 2008, 2009, we did a project called Speak Health. And the big yellow print you're seeing in front of you, includes artifacts from that project. Speak Health was the imaging research center and my company, Info Culture, working with a group of doctors who practiced integrative medicine. It's a very holistic view of how to understand health and how to treat illness, and how to promote health. Wonderful group of very thoughtful people who wanted to promote this idea of integrative medicine, integrative integrative health to the broader American population. They wanted to tell their story. So, we met with them for most of a year, creating a very large diagram that showed how the content they wanted to get across related to and intersected with the different narratives in mainstream US culture related to health. So, the top of this yellow print is part of that diagram, specifically those cultural narratives.
(01:11): And the bottom is actually an interface that we created for the web that users could click on, you could click on on those discs, and they would expand to offer more and more information about that subject, as well as films and other media to try to get these ideas across. Turned out in the end though, all that stuff is a little bit weird for the medical community, at least that part of the medical community. And we were also creating some very imaginative by their account films that were, we hope gonna break through the noise and allow people to, you know, kind of be drawn to and compelled to look at this idea of integrative health. So, the films are strange, you know, it isn't like they had Brad Pitt to be a spokesman. We needed to do something that would capture attention. So these films are really kind of interesting. I urge you to look at them. If you follow the yarn up over the ceiling there and into the center of the room, it's the third monitor that's in that group of monitors and it says, speak health on it.
