The Analytical Creative Podcast

8. Weaving Analytics and Creativity through Sociology Research, Education , and Dancing (Part 1)

Listen Later

Today, I am sharing a conversation with my friend Kristy Gordon.  Kristy and I met in the Artist's Way group led by my friend Jaime, which I had previously mentioned in my interview with Lindsay.  Kristy earned her PhD in sociology, which she has used in teaching, research in social inequality, and consulting.  Because Kristy and I had such a rich and wide-ranging conversation, I divided this interview into 2 podcast episodes.  In Part 1, Kristy beautifully describes how she uses both her analytical and creativity skills in her research to design meaningful studies and also how she uses these to develop strong connections with students.  In Part 2, to be released on Wednesday, Kristy and I talk about how dancing has been an important creative outlet for her, ever since she started choreagraphing dances in her garage as a child with her pink boombox.  Come listen as Kristy shares how that that childhood past time has evolved into her current dance business and also how she brings in her analytical mindset with her consulting career. You don't want to miss Kristy and my conversation!
