Toxic religion is often a tough topic, can be misunderstood and harshly judged. Cults are just one form of when religion can be used to create toxic connections with their followers. When we think of religion vs spirituality some confusion may arise but there is most certainly a difference. Religion alone is not a problem but when it is used to control or persuade one to conform for the sake of their own needs there may be some issues to arise.
