On this episode of 808’s & Convo, Emo G gets real about the things we carry into adulthood that we should’ve left in our childhood. From unresolved petty conflicts with family and friends we grew up with to learning how to set boundaries with the people closest to us, we’re having an honest conversation about growth, accountability and knowing when it’s time to let the past go. Just because you’ve known somebody your whole life doesn’t mean you should spend the rest of it holding onto old grudges.

We also get into Tyler Perry’s stance on not giving handouts to family, and why Emo G agrees that loving your people doesn’t mean you’re obligated to financially support everybody. There’s a difference between helping someone get on their feet and becoming their permanent safety net. Sometimes, saying no is necessary for your own peace, progress and financial stability.

And finally, we’re tapping into Method Man’s comments about not truly maturing as a man until he reached 40 years old. Emo G shares why he believes a lot of men can relate to that realization because becoming a man isn’t just about age it’s about perspective, accountability, emotional intelligence and learning from the mistakes you made along the way.
