#81: Advocating for Women’s Health with April Davis | The Cleansing Nature of Your Menstrual Cycle

Listen Later

Today we’re continuing the conversation about women’s health with one of my previous guests, April Davis, an expert on all things women’s health, especially the vagina. There are a lot of stigmas women face that may prevent them from sharing and talking about things that would otherwise be healthy for them to talk about, and that’s why April Davis is here. Society has been set up to support the working man, but it often isn’t very convenient for the working woman, who deals with hormonal shifts, periods, and pregnancy. We’re all very different when you look at the science, and there’s no blanket fix or set of rules that will help someone improve their health, so understanding your own body individually is very important to achieving the highest state of well-being.

“It’s OK to lie down when you’re tired because what I have found is if you rest and you lie down when you’re tired, as soon as that follicular phase energy hits you, once you’re out of your bleed, which typically for me is on day 2 of my cycle. So I’ll even be still physically bleeding. All that energy returns beautifully, and I am well prepared to just kill it. I get all of my work for the month done in those two weeks, and then I’m able to rest more in the other two weeks.” 12:34
