Self-taught musician Marcus Alan Ward and I butt heads on the credentials of mainstream hip-hop culture and what it means to be a creative in the Midwest. 

We map out his journey, learning instruments as a young outsider in Bedford, Ohio, and hustling as a touring musician before making money moves as a filmmaker. As he settles comfortably into the swing of his 30’s, he shares how he’s made his way back to music with God by his side and an evolved mindset as his guide.
