There seems to have been a shift that occurred in the 1960’s according to Dr.Ken Harris. In 1968, and not Vietnam. For Dr.Ken Harris and others it was living in Chicago and experiencing the racial conflicts that plagued the city at that time. Redlining wasn’t only for real estate, it also played a part in insurance, economics, job opportunity, food, clothing, etc… So much so that we started to inculcate certain ideals to fit the mold. As much as the city has changed over the years some things still need to be adapted. Not to put a spin on them but to right the wrongs done over time. We can’t accept the idea that we are just a monolith of a city.
