I break down the difference between unhealthy anger (projection, moralistic judgment, control, and misinterpretation) and healthy anger (a needs-based signal to protect boundaries and get universal human needs met). I explain how cultural conditioning often leads people to repress anger because they think it’s bad or unsafe, which distorts it rather than integrating it. Through a Nonviolent Communication lens, I describe healthy anger as “giraffe” energy that emerges when I clearly see needs not being met, and I share examples like feeling fury about inflation hurting the poor and coercive government schooling harming children’s autonomy.
