This is Part 8 of a multi-part series chronicling WCW after Hulk Hogan turned evil in 1996 and wreaked havoc on the company as part of the infamous New World Order stable. Here is a link to the entire playlist:

We are in the midst of the nWo hostile takeover of WCW. So far they've cheated to win the World Heavyeight Title for Hollywood Hogan, spray painted and humiliated WCW wrestlers, and pretty much done whatever they've wanted to.

The previous night they staved off a marquee WarGames match against The Horsemen, Lex Luger & Sting, after Sting walked out on WCW. nWo planted seeds of distrust with an imposter Sting that made WCW doubt his alliegance. But after it was proven that it wasn't him that attacked Lex Luger, he walked out on his team, leaving the nWo to humiliate the Horsemen and the Macho Man to end the show.

Today, nWo are in celebration mode. And nWo fans are taking liberties, passing out propaganda flyers, taking over the merch stand and celebrating in the parking lot. We also get the first appearance of Syxx in WCW, who releases thousands of nWo flyers from the rafters in Horsemen country. Talk about heat!

Of course we have some of our favorite, as the Nick Patrick arc continues on this show.

But the crux of the matter is why did Sting walk out on WCW at WarGames? We get an explanation on this night. And it's not what WCW want to hear. And with Sting gone, the horsemen leave Lex Luger laying as punishment for Sting abandoning them. And WCW is in disarray!
