After two students from UWM die from opioid overdose the campus puts Narcan overdose boxes accessible to students. Now, Dr.Ken Harris says he’s empathetic for anyone affected by addiction but he wonders, where was the same empathy and reaction/response when Black people were going through our addiction epidemic. Why are minor offenses like public intoxication and marijuana possession taken more seriously than opioids. Is this because more white lives matter? There was no grace and mercy for us.
